Ruth is a UK and European patent attorney in the chemical and life sciences team.
Ruth is experienced in the drafting, filing and prosecution of UK, European and international patent applications and in the management of worldwide patent portfolios. In addition, she assists with European opposition cases. She specialises in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals including synthetic chemistry, pharmaceutical formulations, chemical processes, polymorphs and nutraceuticals.
Upon qualifying as a UK and European patent attorney Ruth was awarded the Strode Prize for her performance in the UK Advanced Patent Practice exam. Ruth also has a certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London, obtained with distinction.
Ruth graduated from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in Chemistry. She then completed a DPhil in Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. Her doctoral research, in collaboration with a large pharmaceutical company, concerned new methodology to form aza-cyclic compounds.
