Petra is a European patent attorney working in our Electronics and Engineering department. She has experience in filing and prosecuting patent applications around the world (including non-PCT countries and countries in which European applicants file less often), and in European opposition proceedings. She enjoys European prosecution, opposition and dealing with the EPO in general, especially when it comes to complex EPC or PCT legal issues.
In 2017, Petra completed a three-week internship at the EPO, working closely with EPO examiners (and trying her hand at various aspects of the examiners’ job).
Apart from her day to day work, Petra is an active EQE tutor and an epi Professional Education Committee member, where she represents Malta.
Petra holds a Masters degree in physics from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She specialized in modelling flow of compressible fluids and regularity of steady compressible 2D Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations.
