Jaesuk is a trainee patent attorney in our Electronics and Engineering department.
Jaesuk graduated from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea with a Bachelor degree in physics. He then was awarded a Ph.D. in applied physics at Stanford University in the United States. His doctoral research concerned developing a novel optical imaging method for sensitive molecular detection, down to few-molecule sensitivity. He then took up a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Physical Chemistry at ETH Zurich, where he demonstrated all-optical switching in the nanoscale with a single dye molecule at cryogenic condition. Before joining Venner Shipley, he held a position as Junior Research Fellow in the physics department at the Imperial College London, where he led a junior group to implement optical quantum information processing on an integrated-optics platform.
