We insist on employing the right people and training them in a way that ensures our clients receive the highest quality of service.
Being a Patent or Trade Mark Attorney is an incredibly rewarding profession. It is intellectually stimulating from both a technical and legal standpoint. Whilst the job is rewarding the qualification path is challenging and takes a number of years. As a new trainee (Patent or Trade Marks), you will be exposed to a variety of tasks and spend your time meeting clients, providing legal advice, preparing applications to protect their IP, and filing and prosecuting those applications, whilst being supervised by a Partner or Senior Associate. More information on becoming a trainee can be found in our trainee recruitment page.
Once qualified we will support you as you develop your own practice and client responsibility. This usually involves some foreign travel, business development events and taking on a trainee yourself as well as becoming more involved in learning how we manage our business. Those who excel in these roles will ultimately find themselves working towards becoming a partner.
Our administrative and business services staff are vital to the effective running of our business. As such, their continued learning and development is important. We encourage staff to enhance their knowledge with continuous professional development in their area of expertise, be that CIPA/ITMA administration qualifications, Accountancy/HR/Marketing/IT qualifications or attending external courses and seminars.
