Michelle joined Venner Shipley in 2010, having spent five years with another firm of London patent and trade mark attorneys where she qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2009. She has experience in a wide range of patent matters and specialises in drafting and prosecuting patents in the fields of electronics, telecommunications and software. Michelle has particular experience in subject matter relating to consumer electronic devices and computer-implemented inventions, including innovations relating to image processing, code encryption, wireless communication, radio transmission and VoIP. Michelle has previously advised clients in relation to business methods, and understands the difficulties faced in Europe when trying to protect this subject matter.
Although her experience is primarily in software and electronics, Michelle also has experience protecting mechanical devices, and has advised on a significant number of design applications. Michelle strives to give quality, commercial patent advice and enjoys working with a range of different clients from start-up companies to large corporate clients.

Education
Michelle graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2003 as a Bachelor of Engineering with first-class honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She studied diverse subjects including digital communications, signal analysis, RF engineering, power electronics, power systems and machines and circuit engineering.
