Richard joined Venner Shipley in 2006 and is a European patent attorney. His work relates to a wide variety of technology areas, including telecommunications, software, computer networking, consumer electronics and machine technology. He also has experience in a broad range of high-tech fields, including laser technology, nanotechnology, information theory and quantum computing.
The main focus of Richard's work is the preparation and filing of new patent applications and the prosecution of applications through to grant in Europe, the UK and overseas. In addition, he is involved with preparing infringement, validity and freedom-to-operate opinions, and also deals with registered design applications.
Education
Richard has a first class degree in Theoretical Physics from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in Applied Physics from Imperial College London. He also has a certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
