Olivia joined Venner Shipley and the patent profession in 2003 and qualified as a Chartered and European patent attorney in 2007. She specialises in drafting and prosecuting UK, European and international patent applications in all areas of electronics, physics and information technology. She also advises on infringement issues.
Olivia has particular experience in the field of telecommunications and consumer electronics, as well as in satellite technology. She has particular interest in the fast changing fields of computer memory, processing power and software and she keeps herself up to date on the various ways to protect computer implemented inventions. Olivia also has a particular interest in green technologies. She has worked for several university spin-out companies in the fields of renewable energy and software development. She has experience in developing software for both commercial and research purposes.
Her clients include both multi-national corporations and small start-up companies. She works with a number of Nordic clients and is a native Swedish speaker.
Olivia has gained experience in the protection of designs in the UK and overseas.

Education
Olivia graduated from Imperial College London with an honours degree in Physics. During her degree, she specialised in semiconductor physics, in particular spintronics, and conducted research into magnetoelectric devices. She also has a certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
