Jonathan is a Chartered and European patent attorney. He entered the patent profession in 2002 and joined Venner Shipley in 2005 after working at another London-based firm of attorneys. He specialises in the prosecution of patent applications in the fields of consumer electronics, image-processing, digital TV and telecommunications.

Jonathan has expertise in the field of navigational electronics, in particular magnetoresistive sensors and radars, and has worked as a software engineer for a leading global radar technology company, gaining experience of a variety of programming languages including C and Visual C++.

Jonathan has attended hearings at the EPO in Munich and The Hague, and also at the Patents County Court.  He has also assisted a client in the procurement of external investment based on their IP portfolio.

Education

Jonathan graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters degree in Electrical and Information Sciences, obtaining a distinction. During his degree he also studied physical natural sciences including physics, chemistry and geology, before specialising in the areas of semiconductors, optoelectronics and liquid crystals.
