Alex qualified as both a Chartered and European patent attorney in 2006, having entered the profession in 2001. He has experience of a wide range of mechanical and electrical technologies, and currently specialises in consumer electronics. Alex has experience with mechanical patents relating to medical, aeronautical and automotive technology.

Alex has experience with the whole life cycle of a patent, from drafting and prosecution through to grant, including oppositions before the European Patent Office and infringement and validity opinions.

Education

Alex graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Physics. During his degree, he studied optics and solid-state devices, and carried out a research project investigating materials suitable for manufacturing blue laser diodes.
