Malta accedes to the PCT and to the European Patent Convention on 1 March 2007
Malta (MT) has deposited its instrument of accession to international patent system so that from 1 March 2007, any international (PCT) application will automatically include the designation of Malta.
Malta will also become bound by the European Patent Convention on the same date, becoming the 32nd EPC state.
Therefore, European patent applications filed on or after 1 March 2007 will include the designation of the following 32 member states:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
