Jan is a graduate of the University of Southampton in Electronic Engineering. He is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney, a solicitor (non-practising) and a Patent Agent Litigator. After graduation, he worked on computer modelling of chemical and pharmaceutical processes for a blue chip company, before re-qualifying as a solicitor with a leading City law firm, where he gained significant experience of patent litigation. Jan then joined Venner Shipley to specialise in the filing and prosecution of patent applications in the electronics field. His current interests include the patentability of software and business method related applications, as well as the field of nanotechnology.
