Trade marks and designs are of great importance in the fashion industry and we act for a range of well known, and lesser known, fashion brands.  This often involves advising on potential new marks for high profile launches, advising on and dealing with potential or real infringements, advising in relation to trade marks in advertisements as well as obtaining protection for trade marks and designs throughout the world.

We use national registration systems, the EU-wide Community registration system and the International registration system to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective trade mark protection. We also advise on and maintain trade mark watching services allowing clients to take early action against new trade marks that come too close to their own.

With goods in this sector, counterfeits are all too common and we work with customs and trading standards officers to try to prevent the importation and distribution of counterfeits. We have good relationships with a number of trading standards officers and encourage them to let us know whenever they come across a suspected counterfeit of one of our client’s brands.
