Sector Expertise
Chemistry & Chemical Engineering
Our attorneys have considerable expertise in dealing with all aspects of IP protection in the chemical industry. We have been providing our clients with clear and concise advice for many years and have gained a reputation for providing a high quality, client focussed service. Our chemical clients use our patent services because we understand the technologies that underpin their business and the commercial importance that a well managed patent portfolio has in this industry.
Our attorneys draft chemical patent applications and prosecute them throughout the world, often for technically complex new inventions. We also handle many oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office. Our in-depth understanding of the difficult areas of the law that tend to arise in chemical cases means that we relish helping our clients navigate such problems.
We act for a variety of clients in this industry, including major international companies, SMEs and universities. We have long-standing clients whose technologies relate to liquid crystals, catalysts for synthetic organic reactions, acrylates and super absorbent polymers, fuel cells, catalytic converters and lithium ion batteries.
We are responsive to the wider needs of our clients and have, for instance, prepared IP policy and training documents for in-house use by a multinational client in the field of cellular and industrial polymers.
Our attorneys have at least one degree in chemistry and often also relevant postgraduate qualifications, as well as a keen interest in developments in this technical field.
